ISC's proficiency certification is carried out considering theoretical and practical assessments:

1. Diagnostic and Clinical Reasoning

The foundation of proficiency lies not in force, but in diagnostic intelligence. A competent professional must be able to:

  • Interpret Diagnostic Imaging: Analyze X-rays and MRIs to identify contraindications and determine the precise vectors for adjustment.

  • Conduct Detailed Anamnesis: Understand the patient's full health history to differentiate mechanical pain from systemic pathologies.

  • Static and Dynamic Palpation: Accurately locate areas of joint restriction (subluxations) through touch and motion analysis.

 

2. Technical Mastery (The Art of the Adjustment)

 

Chiropractic is a manual art that requires mastering High-Velocity, Low-Amplitude (HVLA) thrusts. Proficiency involves:

  • Precision in the "Setup": Correctly positioning both the patient and the practitioner's hands to minimize discomfort and maximize mechanical leverage.

  • Force Control: Applying the exact pressure required for different body types—ranging from infants and athletes to the elderly.

True proficiency means knowing when not to adjust. Recognizing "red flags" (warning signs of serious underlying conditions) is what distinguishes an expert healthcare provider. Patient safety is the ultimate metric of proficiency, ensuring every intervention is evidence-based.

The healthcare field is constantly evolving. Proficiency requires staying updated with the latest guidelines from the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) and attending technical seminars to refine both manual skills and theoretical understanding.

 

5. How to obtain Proficiency Certification?

​

  • Safety Proficiency Certification

Students and professionals of the area can obtain this certification of proficiency, considering the knowledge and competencies of  safety, obligatory tests, safety organograms and risk -benefit ratio in clinical practice. The fee for the test will be 110 euros and there is no fee for certificate emission. In the case of not being approved the candidate will have the right to repeat the test one time in a period of six month. ISC's proficiency certification is carried out considering theoretical and practical assessments.

  • Clinicals Skills Proficiency Certification

Students and professionals of the area can obtain this certification of proficiency, considering the knowledge and competencies of avaluation, diagnosis, basic radiology, clinical organograms, and development of treatment plans in chiropractic. This consideration also will be considered knowledges of safety, obligatory tests, safety organograms and risk -benefit ratio in clinical practice. This will be considered a double certification because it includes knowledge of the Safety Proficiency Certification. The fee for the test will be 120 euros and there is no fee for certificate emission. In the case of not being approved the candidate will have the right to repeat the test one time in a period of six months. ISC's proficiency certification is carried out considering theoretical and practical assessments.

  • Tecnhique Proficiency Certification

Students and professionals of the area can obtain this certification of proficiency, considering the knowledge and competencies of any chiropractic techniques in the platform of studies of the ISC.  Will be a prerequisite for this certification to have the “Safety Proficiency Certification” or Submit the Safety Proficiency Certification simultaneously with a special discount.

6 . Philosophy Proficiency Certification

​

The philosophy of chiropractic is what historically and conceptually distinguishes it from traditional medicine and even from physical therapy. It is often described as a blend of Vitalism, Holism, and Naturalism. While modern chiropractic is increasingly integrated with evidence-based science, its philosophical roots remain a major part of its identity. ISC considere the fusion of al this principles.  The fee for the test will be 110 euros and there is no fee for certificate emission. In the case of not being approved the candidate will have the right to repeat the test once a period of six months.


7. Radiology Proficiency Certification

​

Radiology is a fundamental pillar of chiropractic practice. It serves as the primary "internal eye" for the professional, moving beyond physical palpation to visualize the actual state of the spine and joints. In the profession, radiology is used in two ways: by the general practitioner (who uses it for daily clinical decisions) and by the specialist (the Chiropractic Radiologist). This program do not refers to specialist program that is not contemplated by ISC plataform odf Studies. The fee for the test will be 120 euros and there is no fee for certificate emission. In the case of not being approved the candidate will have the right to repeat the test once a period of six months. If you do not have Safety Proficiency, you can do it together with the unified fee of 160 euro. ISC's proficiency certification is carried out considering theoretical and practical assessments.


8. Chiropractic Specialization Certification

​

Professionals of the area can obtain this certification of proficiency, considering the knowledge and competencies of any chiropractic specialty in the platform of studies of the ISC.

Chiropractic Specialties: Advanced Areas of Practice

While chiropractic is a primary contact profession, practitioners can pursue advanced training in various specialties to focus on specific patient populations or clinical conditions. Here are the primary internationally recognized chiropractic specialties and areas of focus:

  1. Sports Chiropractic

  2. Pediatric and Hebiatric Chiropractic

  3. Geriatric Chiropractic

  4. Functional Neurology (Chiropractic Neurology)

  5. Chiropractic Radiology
